Welcome to our page! Our goal is to briefly discuss the history of insanity and it’s relation to criminal behavior. We will evaluate each dimension of a criminal trial in which a defendant wishes to plea insanity. These dimensions include competency to stand trial as well as the standards used today to determine insanity. We will also discuss the famous case of John Hinckley which lead to the Insanity Defense Reform Act. Finally, we’ll discuss the difference between Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and Guilty yet Mentally Insane.
